Fall is the perfect time to take some time to enjoy, first-hand, the beautiful sites the Great Northeast has to offer. And you don’t have to go far…
#5 – Ti-ing one on in the ‘Dacks
Take Route 4 (North) out of Troy, through Mechanicville, Schuylerville, Hudson Falls, Fort Ann and Whitehall. Stay on Rt. 4 and crossover into Vermont. In Fair Haven, Vt. take a left onto Route 22A (North). Pass through Benson, enjoying the tremendous views of the not-so Green Mountain State this time of the year. In Orwell, take a left onto Route 73 (West) to the eastern edge of the Lake Champlain, and the dock for the Ticonderoga Ferry. The Ferry runs from 7a-6p. Cost is $5 per vehicle, and they only take cash and checks (so your plastic is no good there!). Following the memorable Ferry ride back into NYS get on Route 74 (West). Take a left onto Route 9N (South) and partake in the incredible splendor of the Adirondacks. In Bolton Landing stop at Fredericks for their amazing Hoops, then stay on Rt. 9N (South) into Lake George. Hit Duffy’s (Amherst St.) for a quick one (or two) – and you’re on your own.
Note: The Ti Ferry runs until Oct. 30 – so take this ride while you still can!
And Remember: You’re Never Lost When You’re Riding Your Bike
